When eclipse says: An error has occurred. See the log file .metadata/.log.

Delete: /YOUR PATH TO WORKSPACE/.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.core.resources

    From console run the following command.
    c:/eclipse/eclipse -clean

  2. Hey, I did that . Now although I'm able to open my workspace, I'm unable to view my files. it says "Could not open the editor: org.eclipse.ui.PartInitException: The file does not exist."

    I'm in serious need for my workspce .. Can you please help asap

  3. i dont see any "*...core.resources" to delete. And even after I delete the whole log file, it keeps spitting the same error.

    Projects are gone, but you can just add them... But the main thing is that all my preferences were still there... Coloring, Fonts, Installed interpreters... Superb!

  9. Nice help, but it destroy the workspace, even by importing my projects (plugins project essentially), it broke all the dependancies. It shouldn't take long to correct it but still, is their another way to fix the "An error has occurred. See the log file .metadata/.log.".

  10. now of the above nor the clean thing nor deleting the metadata.can anyone help.I have deleted all and installed eclipse again.I am not able to open it.Please help

    In short, delete the .snap file inside the org.eclipse.core.resources folder. Worked for me.

  13. Thanks a bunch. Deleting the whole resources folder, did the trick. I had to reimport all the projects though, but atleast my workspace settings are still intact.

    /YOUR PATH TO WORKSPACE/.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.core.resources
    will solve the problem.

  20. when i open editor in eclipse it shows the error like "an error occured. See the log file. Java.lang.NullPointerException". But the editor is opened.Also it does not display the title of the file name which i open.pls help me to solve this problem.Thanks in Advance

  23. dont do it ! if you delete your /YOUR PATH TO WORKSPACE/.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.core.resources, you wont be able to see your workspace on your eclipse!!!!

  32. HELP, I just downloaded eclipse and finally got it to load the installer where it makes me pick my workspace, after I pick a workspace it says that it could not find the .log file in my workspace, I have tried delting all of the files as described above and nothing is working...
